I've had two weeks of BJJ and Muay Thai classes. The experience has been amazing. I am a little sore but that has not stopped my drive. I feel more confident and find myself eating a little better. I’m very happy with the gym I joined everyone is very friendly, so far I have not encountered any egos. After a great two weeks I am saddened by the unfortunate upcoming break in classes. They gym I joined is moving into a much larger facility. While the move is taking place there will be no classes, this could last up to 3 weeks. Bummer I know. It’s good for the gym and in the long run it will be good for me too.
Looks like I will spend a lot of time on the elliptical at home. I just got a copy of Mastering the Rubber Guard book, and can’t wait to get started. In a week I should have the 5’ by 10’ home mat. So I should be able to be productive on my own.
In a week or so I will start a modified Paleo diet. I am not looking at this as another diet but as a lifestyle change.
I want to say thank you to some folks for helping me start this new adventure.
First: P. Jones, if it was not for you I would have never got interested in BJJ and MMA. Thank you for being a friend and encouraging me to start journey. I know you will be there alongside me.
Second: To the guys on the 10th Planet Nibiru Forum, thank you! These guys have welcomed me into the family. They have been very helpful with my noob question and very encouraging. They have given me hope and inspiration. I know that when I get stuck or disheartened they will be there to help me out.
Lastly I want to thank my wife. You have always believed in me, even when I haven’t believed in myself. Thank you for your never ending love and support. I love you so much.
Well this is it for this update. I’m not sure when I update this next, maybe next Friday. I’m not sure anyone but me reads this but hey, maybe someday someone will stumble upon my ramblings and find inspiration.
